Welcome to my blog

Thought I’d write a brief introduction about myself. My name is Laura Slatcher and I’m an online journalism masters student at the University of Central Lancashire. I’m specialising in online media after completing my journalism degree at Lincoln University in 2006. I hope to work within sports journalism and have recently began freelancing for skysports.com.

I am a huge football fan and support my home team, Wolverhampton Wanderers (no laughs please). I also enjoy reading crime books and taking time out to catch up with friends when I’ve got time. 24, Prison Break and Heroes feature highly in my interests, Kiefer Sutherland is amazing.

My course has led me to studying the online medium, from writing for the web to using flashy multimedia, that’s the geek in me trying to escape.
